Scope
This standard specifies the requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules, as well as packaging, marking, transportation and storage methods for fresh watermelon for sale. This standard applies to the commercial purchase, storage, transportation and sale of watermelon (including seedless watermelon), and does not apply to feed watermelon and seed watermelon.

The fruit shall be intact, sound, normally developed, fresh, clean, free from off-flavor, free from abnormal external moisture, and have the maturity suitable for storage, transportation or market requirements.
