Scope

Before planting, the production environment shall be tested, and the environmental quality of the production area shall comply with the requirements of NY 5010.
Within the production area, there shall be no pollution sources threatening the production environment upstream of the water source or upwind.
Appropriate seed treatment measures such as dry heat treatment, warm water soaking, hot water scalding, chemical disinfection, and chemical seed dressing shall be used to reduce the occurrence of pests and diseases during the growth period and the amount of pesticides used later, and seed treatment records shall be kept.
