This standard specifies the types and parameters of heavy duty horizontal lathes, applicable to newly designed general-purpose lathes with a maximum swing diameter over bed from 1 000 mm to 5 000 mm and a maximum workpiece weight between centers ≥10 t. It provides a type diagram and a parameter table covering maximum swing diameter over bed, maximum swing diameter over tool post, maximum workpiece length, and maximum workpiece weight between centers as ranges. Compared to the previous version, it adds the parameter for maximum swing diameter over tool post and changes the maximum workpiece length and weight from single values to ranges.
