Papayas of each grade shall, in addition to meeting the requirements of their respective grade, physicochemical indicators and hygiene indicators, also meet the following requirements: intact; firm; fresh; fruit sound, free from disease, decay or damage affecting edibility; no tumor disease;
Papayas are divided into the following three grades: Extra Class, Class I, Class II.
Hygiene indicators are shown in Table 3: mercury (as Hg) ≤0.01; arsenic (as As) ≤0.5; lead (as Pb) ≤0.2; cadmium (as Cd) ≤0.03; dimethoate ≤1.0; malathion not detectable; carbendazim ≤2.0; deltamethrin ≤0.1.
Any product that fails the hygiene indicators shall be judged as non-conforming product.
