NY/T 601-2002 'Sunflower seed for oil processing' is a Chinese agricultural industry standard applicable to the production, circulation, purchase, sale, storage, and import/export of commercial sunflower seeds for oil processing. It specifies terms and definitions, quality indices (including kernel yield, oil content, imperfect kernels, impurities, moisture, color and odor), test methods, judgment rules, and packaging, transport and storage requirements. Sunflower seeds are graded from special grade to fourth grade based on kernel yield and oil content, with clear off-grade thresholds.
