This standard specifies the quality grades, test methods, sampling and evaluation methods for low pressure turbine expanders. This standard applies to radial inflow turbine expanders (hereinafter referred to as expanders) used in air separation and liquefaction processes to obtain refrigeration through expansion work, with an inlet pressure not greater than 1.6 MPa (absolute pressure). This standard does not apply to expanders where the working medium is in vapor-liquid two-phase.
